Hi Remo,

I'm firmly on board with taking up the two month trial offer. However I aborted an initial attempt to sign up yesterday, because I became impatient with the seemingly long-winded sign up process, and wasn't sure what the package was offering me what in terms of exchanges, duplicate markets, whether payment is centralised etc...

For example, when I selected the F/X add on, it won't let me select other markets. When I selected European Markets, it didn't let me select F/X. Maybe I was a bit tired after a long day, and didn't grasp things properly.

I have been at work for 24 hours straight yesterday, and that might have been a source of irritation mind! :woohoo:

I'll give it another bash tomorrow (and I might Private Message you as I might have a question or two regarding the sign up process, such as what options to take on, and the integrity of the payment process, paying for the package then paying for the exchanges etc..)

Anyway, as I said, I'm on board, but got frustrated with the process (although I appreciate that I need to be patient!).

Cheers!

:)

Hi libero
There sign up process is confusing. Ive complained to them about it a few times now.
dont worry about the forex as if you go for metastock pro it comes with all the forex anyway.
You dont have to pay for the software while on the trial. You do have to pay for the LSE exchange fee which works out at about $7 per month. This gives you the live feed for your charts.
The news feeds all come from Reuters so you dont have to pay for them as they are part of the trial.
If you get stuck then use there live chat help desk and as there based in america there available from after 1.30pm Uk time till really late.
The package im using is the metastock pro. If you do speak to them then just say your from chartsview and want to trial the same package that im on. Hopefully they should know me and will put you on the same package.
Ill try and find out what exactly im on and let you know latter. So that the process would be easier for you.
I dont think there help desk is open in the weekend so best do it during the week.

Just to add to this, when you take out MetaStock Pro you have access to every share known to man. What you are paying for is the exchanges that provide live prices otherwise if you don't pay then it would be delayed by 15 mins but you still have access to every single share, currency, commodity etc.

Far as I'm aware F/X is included when you take out MetaStock Pro so you don't need to add it on.
If your uncertain about anything just ask them on the live help desk as they are very helpful, if they are not just let us know as we have other contacts.

Done. :cheer:

With Caveats However.... Installation warnings. I'm on a Unix platform running a hardened native 64-bit version of windows, with 64-bit software, etc etc - but I'm guessing that MetaStock prefers a 32-bit vanilla OS, judging by the installer warnings.

Also, traffic runs through a different port to 80 (HTTP) or 443 (HTTPS), and this might give me a headache at work. Let's see if there's a solution.

Hopefully it should be fine. I just booted it up, and it is running ok, it reminds me of Bloomberg! I've attached a screen shot of .... Yep, GLENCORE! :P

I've got a three-screen (27" flanked by 2 x 24" rotated vertically) set up at work and at home, so I wonder if this program is accommodating in that regard?

Already lamenting the lack of time to really get under the hood of this program, even with 2 months gratis, the test is to find the time to really use it.

Lots to experiment with... Anyway, let's see I'll get on, and I'll report back in the afternoon as I start work at 5am tomorrow!

Once again Remo (and Ronnie!), thank you both for sorting out this amazing deal.

p.s. Weird, I've got myself a trial demo of ProRealTime recently, and it looks like a neat package too. The Agony of Choice. ;)

Hi Remo,

Not sure I should get in touch with MetaStock, but I received this in an e-mail:

Our records indicate that your annual subscription to one or more of MetaStock’s products is nearing its annual renewal date.
On November 1, 2013, your subscription(s) to the following product(s) will automatically renew at the listed price:
MetaStock XENITH FX Data: $950.00
MetaStock XENITH European, Middle Eastern, & African Data: $1440.00
MetaStock XENITH Worldwide Futures, Commodities, & Derivatives Data (Discounted): $720.00

I signed up before the offer period ended, and not sure if I signed up for all this lot :woohoo: as I specifically copied your settings  ...

Anyway, I'm sure if I get in touch with them they'll sorted it out.

Now, I've barely had a chance to tinker with MetaStock, but that Reuters platform....Wow.

I mean I've neglected everything I'm supposed to do (apart from keeping up my impeccable hygiene of course! :P ), but seriously, really loving this platform!!!

It is far too addictive... I wonder if there's DMA / L2 functionality?

Superb stuff... Cheers Remo!
